Welcome to Pilgrim Church! Visitors are always welcome. Our family service is held every Sunday at 9:30 AM. Sunday school is available during the public school calendar. Communion is performed on the first Sunday of every month.
GOOD THINGS FOR SUMMER
Sometimes it is easy to get caught up in the flow of things. If everyone is having a second piece of pie, or more strawberry shortcake, why not? If everyone in my circle of friends has a brand new and fashionable jacket, somehow I feel left behind if I don’t have one just like it, too. What about the newest cell phone? It seems as if they come out with a new one daily. Do you have the best plan that goes with it? Do you have a big flat screen TV?
WOMEN'S BOOK BASH
The first Book Bash in the fall will be at the home of Penny Alderman. The book to be discussed is "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett. "The Help" is a book that readers hate to put down. It is the story of race issues in the South during the 20th Century. Be prepared to meet three unforgettable women: Skeeter, Aibileen and Minny, seemingly as different from one another as can be imagined. But they come together for a clandestine project that puts them all at risk.
A FOUR COURSE DINNER!
The Church Growth Committee is planning a Progressive Dinner on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010. This is a great way to reconnect with your church family during a delicious, relaxing meal. The dinner will take place in four courses:
Appetizers, Salad, Main Entrée, and Dessert. Each course will be at a different home. If you are not hosting, you’ll be asked to contribute some part of one of the courses. Mark the date on your calendar and sign up in Fellowship Hall and/or call Karen McNall for more information
RENEW YOUR DAILY PLEDGE TO PRAY FOR PILGRIM CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH
We all signed a pledge to pray daily for Pilgrim Church but at times our busy schedule interferes with our sincere intentions. I believe in the power of prayer. It gave me the strength and brought me thru a serious bout with cancer, the loss of my grandson, Michael, loss of parents and other loved ones as well as numerous other trials life brings. I believe that the power of all members of our congregation joining together in prayer for Pilgrim Congregational Church will help us to prosper, grow, and preserve our church for future generations.
Thank you,
Deacon Sandra DeRienzo
